Mountain Hut Guido Corsi is located on the edge of a green medow in a wide corrie amongst steep dolomite rocky walls. This is the highest located mountain hut of the region. Walls from the northern side (Campanile di Villaco 2247 m a.s.l., Jóf Fuart 2666 m, Madre dei Camosci 2518 m, Cima di Riofreddo 2507 m, Cima del Vallone 2368 m, Cime di Riobianco 2239 m) draw a semicircle made of rocks – just like in the Dolomites – while the corrie is open to south, where we can see the chain of peaks (Cima Confine 2232 m, Cima Mogenza 1972 m and Canin 2587 m) down to the Monte Forato 2498 m. The hut is named after captain Guido Corsi, a great mountain climber. It was built in 1925 over the ruins of the Findenegg hut destroyed in the I. World War. It was enlarged in 1969. The hut is an exellent start both to the alpinist routes and to the military bunkers left behind by the Italian or Austrian troops in the WW 1. Unforgettable excursions to the peaks of Montasio or Jóf Fuart.
